Rules

  1. Games will start on time and last 6 innings or 55 minutes- no inning will start after the time has expired.
  2. Batters each get 6 swings per inning. Each inning ends when all batters from both teams have batted.
  3. Games may end in ties.
  4. Batters are not required to swing at all pitches, but will get a maximum of 10 pitches per at bat.
  5. A team may play with 3 players, but less than 3 is a forfeit. If one team has 3 players and the other has 4, shorthanded team will still bat 4 players in an inning, the fourth batter will be different each inning (each of the 3 players will get an extra at-bat twice in the game). If both teams have 3 players, both teams will bat four each inning, as above.
  6. When hopper of balls has been depleted, both teams are expected to help refill (clock continues to run).
  7. Home team decided by coin toss at the start of each game
  8. If ahead, the home team will still bat in the last inning as total stats figure into playoff seedings.
  9. All calls are determined by the judgment of the umpire.
  10. All teams are expected to keep an accurate score sheet of their contest.
  11. Any disputes will be settled by the acting umpire’s judgment.
  12. There will be no throwing of bats or helmets in the hitting league.
  13. If cages are available, players may warm up prior to their game and/or stay after their game is over.
