Chad, a native of Beaverton, Michigan, had a successful prep career that saw him finish his senior campaign with a .521 batting average, 8 home runs and 49 RBIs, ultimately earning a baseball and academic scholarship to Aquinas College. During his four years as an outfielder at Aquinas he lead the team with a .383 batting average with 8 home runs and 41 RBIs while being named a team captain as a senior. In the classroom earned degrees in Accounting, Business and Sports Management.
After graduating, Chad worked two years for Morgan’s Hitting Club in Grapid Rapids, Michigan as a hitting instructor. In addition, he was the head baseball coach for the Grand Rapids Flames 14u and 15u travel baseball team, as well as the hitting instructor for the entire Grand Rapids Flames organization.
As an adult, his Beecher Muskies team (Chicago Suburban Baseball League) won a National Amateur Baseball Federation World Series Title.
