Coach Hearne is from Palos Heights and played his high school baseball at Marist. As a pitcher and first baseman, he was named All-Conference in his Junior and Senior seasons and also All-Area as a senior. While still a Junior, Mike committed to Notre Dame.

He was a 3 year starter for the Fighting Irish and was named a co-captain for the 2017 season.

• 2014 finished Top 10 in the ACC Conference in Complete Games, Shutouts and Walks per 9 Innings.

• 2016 led the ACC in Shutouts and finished top 10 in Walks/Hits per 9 Innings.

• 2017 finished in the ACC's Top 10 in Hits Allowed, Home Runs Allowed and Walks per 9 Innings.

Mike missed the 2015 season while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.

He earned his degree from Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business with a 3.2 GPA.

Most recently, he has been a volunteer pitching coach with the Welles Park 12U travel squad and is looking forward to bringing his expertise and love of the game to more young players at Bash.
