Delaney Romanchick, Softball Pitching, Defense

Delaney grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where she competed for her high school and the PA Strikes travel organization before continuing her pitching career at the University of Chicago.

A four-year starting pitcher and two-year captain at UChicago, Delaney made 50 career appearances and threw more than 190 innings in the circle. A defensive pitcher known for generating ground balls, she emphasized efficiency and control, issuing just 66 walks across more than 190 innings pitched. She also took pride in fielding her position, posting a .945 fielding percentage over four seasons, and delivered multiple complete games and shutout performances throughout her collegiate career.

While navigating injuries during her final two seasons, Delaney embraced a leadership role,mentoring younger pitchers and deepening her passion for coaching and player development. She particularly enjoys helping players develop strong fundamentals and build confidence on the field.

Delaney graduated in June 2024 with a BA in History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Science and Medicine. She currently works as a clinical researcher at the University of Chicago and plans to attend medical school in the future.

Delaney is available for pitching and defensive lessons.
